Founded by Greg Norman
in January 1995, Medalist Golf Club is located in Hobe
Sound, Florida. The club offers excellence in service
and golf experience, paying homage to the finest traditions
of the game.
The desire to experience the love of golf
is the driving force behind the course's championship
layout. This is the principle that the club operates by
everyday.
The Club facilities include a 26,000 square
foot main clubhouse with two dining facilities, a 1,300
sq. ft rest stop and three guest cottages.
Medalist Golf Club's officers, board members
and staff are committed to providing members and their
guests with the finest possible golf experience.
This traditional course features tree-lined
fairways in its design. The somewhat fast greens are small
and undulating, and marshes come into play on several
holes.
In March 1995, the club hosted Shell's
Wonderful World of Golf. Rated by Golf Digest
as the seventh "Best New Private Course" in America for
1995, and selected as the 10th "Best in State" course
for 1997-98.
Also in 1995, Golf Magazine named
Medalist 80th best out of the "Top 100 Courses in the
U.S.", and 99th for 1997.
Medalist Golf Club's ambience and lively
caddie program are merely added bonuses for the serious
golfer.. wishing to take advantage of the broad fairways,
turf kept firm and running with greens open in front,
greens set at angles dictating the appropriate spot from
which to play, and finally, fascinating recovery shots
for those times that you miss the green. To achieve so
much from a flat piece of land makes it a praise-worthy
course.
A private course, the Medalist is consistently
rated by major golf publications as one of Florida's best
layouts.
